As White Ribbon Day approaches on 25th November, Beyond the Break Coaching is proud to stand as a White Ribbon Champion. This is an important moment each year when men and boys across the UK come together to say clearly: men’s violence against women must end.
For us, this isn’t just a campaign—it’s a commitment. It’s about helping men understand their influence, their behaviour, and the role they can play in building safer, more respectful communities.

Why It Matters

Violence against women and girls continues to be a serious and widespread issue. It doesn’t only mean physical harm. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, or coercive—often hidden but still deeply damaging.
White Ribbon UK encourages men to make a simple but powerful promise:

“I will never use, excuse, or remain silent about men’s violence against women.”

This matters because change doesn’t only happen through laws or services—it happens through everyday conversations, small decisions, and the courage to challenge harmful attitudes. Violence often begins long before physical harm: in sexist jokes, disrespectful language, controlling behaviour, and the belief that women should “put up with” certain things. When these attitudes go unchallenged, they create space for more serious abuse to grow.

White Ribbon Day is a reminder that:

Many women still don’t feel safe walking home at night.
Many girls learn early to change their behaviour to avoid harassment.
Many men want to help but aren’t sure how to start.
Too many families are affected by abuse that could have been prevented.
This is why White Ribbon matters—because men can make a real difference.

How Coaching Helps Create Change

At Beyond the Break Coaching, we believe that men have the capacity to grow, reflect, and lead positive change. Coaching creates a safe and structured space where men can explore their emotions, understand their behaviour, and build healthier relationships.

Here’s how coaching supports that journey:
Understanding emotions - Many men were raised with the message that showing feelings is a weakness. Coaching helps break down those old beliefs, encouraging men to express themselves in healthier ways. Better emotional awareness leads to better decisions, better communication, and healthier relationships.
Building respectful relationships - Strong relationships are built on trust, empathy, and clear communication. Through coaching, men learn to listen more effectively, express their needs respectfully, and recognise the needs of others.
Breaking harmful patterns - Whether patterns come from upbringing, peer groups, stress, or past experiences, they can be changed. Coaching helps men recognise what isn’t working and supports them in developing more constructive habits.
Becoming positive role models - Men influence other men—sons, friends, colleagues, teammates. When one man chooses respect, it sets a powerful example. Coaching helps men step into that role with confidence and authenticity.

Our Commitment

Being a White Ribbon Champion means more than wearing a badge. It means:
Promoting respectful conversations
Challenging harmful stereotypes about masculinity
Supporting men who genuinely want to grow
Encouraging honesty, vulnerability, and accountability
Creating spaces where men feel safe to talk about what they’re struggling with

We believe in healthy masculinity—one built on kindness, self-awareness, and respect—not dominance or silence.
